Texture of a December Day
I had just sat down to lunch on December 3rd when I looked out through the sunroom and saw this. A trace dusting of snow adhering to the curved glass panes created the filter effect. No, it wasn’t snowing significantly at the time but I think the image captures the heavy feel of the atmosphere and of the season, with the distant sun intermittently, feebly penetrating the low overcast that so typically envelops us in early winter. Lunch had to wait while I exposed a series of these images, one of which served as the front photo for my Christmas card that I urgently had to prepare to make the mailing deadlines.
