In early May I accompanied some fellow Whitehorse Photography Club members and friends on a two day outing to Sheep Mountain, north of Haines Junction in Kluane Park. At this time of the year the Dall sheep that inhabit the area normally are accessible, grazing near the base of the mountain. As it turned out, this spring they apparently had been harassed by a pack of wolves and were staying on the upper slopes where they were safe. We did not undertake the strenuous hike up the mountain so all we saw of sheep up close was the fur and bone fragments of a couple of unfortunate victims that littered the access road. In most of the photos that I took, my companions substituted for sheep as subjects. I present his sparse photographic record of the trip mainly for their viewing, but anyone else who is interested is welcome to look in.
